| My name is Ben Pfefferle. I am the President of the Fin and Feather Club of Mason County, Michigan and I would like to welcome you to our web site and tell you a little bit about our Organization. We are a private, non profit, volunteer run, organization with approximately 600 members. We are located on 120 wooded acres on the north branch of the Lincoln River about 6 miles north of Scottville, Michigan and about 20 miles south of Manistee, Michigan. We were chartered in 1937 and have been in existence at this location for about 70 years as a family orientated, conservation/sportsman's club. We welcome guests to look us over and try out our facilities during scheduled events. We have a Club House on the grounds and we have Skeet, Trap, Archery, Rifle and a Pistol range. We have many shooting activities ongoing. We are an original charter member of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs and we support such groups as the NRA, Sportsman's Alliance, MCRGO, Sauble River Watershed restoration,Michigan Bowhunters, Mason County Walleye Association and others. We sponsor a youth education magazine called "Tracks" that is distributed to the kids in all of our area schools. We have instructors who present the NRA's "Eddie Eagle" program to the younger children in our school systems. We also give a $1000.00 scholarship annually to a student studying in the field of conservation or nature. Each year we send 6-8 children to MUCC youth camp for a week. We raise and release approximately 2500 pheasants in the area each year. We have one of the finest hunter safety classes in the state. We hold CPL (Concealed Pistol License) and Basic Pistol classes on a regular basis, as needed. We also have certified instructors that put on IBEP (International Bowhunter Educational Program) classes as needed. I'm sure I missed a few things but this should cover the bulk of it. Our members are good people from all walks of life who share a common interest in their love of the outdoors and all the related activities that go with it. I hope you take some time to surf our site and enjoy the ride. | ||
