The Mason County Fin & Feather Club is committed to Hunter Safety Education. Our Hunter Safety Program Chairman, Frank Koehle, has a staff of volunteers, State Certified in Hunters Safety and/or in International Bowhunter Education Programs (IBEP). The Fin & Feather Club presents a Hunters Safety Program at least twice yearly. The Hunters Safety Program is a State mandated program where all new hunters must attend to obtain a first time hunting license. Perspective new hunters, ages 12 or who will be 12 before the end of that year and above, are accepted into this Hunters Safety Class. This class is a 4 day session, with the last day being a hands on at the Fin & Feather Club shooting ranges. In order for the student to receive his or her certificate, they must attend all 4 day sessions. Upon completion of this training, the student should be confident that he or she can safely use a firearm in such a manner as to avoid injuring themselves or others and hopefully, the student will have a better understanding of wildlife management and will become a safe and responsible member of the hunting community. Check the calendar of up coming events for scheduled classes and sign ups. The list of instructors teaching Hunters Safety at The Fin & Feather Club is:

Minimum age to attend the I.B.E.P. class is 12 years. I.B.E.P. class is recommended to all bowhunters as safety education is never ending.
