Below is a partial listing of club events and activities. Each one of these events or activities is headed up by volunteer Coordinators. Each coordinator is responsible for gathering club members to help volunteer their time to assist with these activities. As a member of the Fin and Feather Club, we strongly urge you to decide which one of the activities you would be interested in volunteering your time for. Hunter Safety Coordinator-Bill Cummins s_william74@hotmail.com 231 425-0128 Information on becoming a Hunter Safety Instructor can be found on the DNR website. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr Link to education on left side and then to Hunter Education. Even if you are not certified, we can use your help. Two classes are held a year. The next class is scheduled for September 17 and 18, 2011. range the first Saturday of every month. Shooting on Saturday mornings all year long. Saturdays are especially busy and extra help is needed on the range. You do not need to be a shooter or certified Range Safety Officer to volunteer. will be held Big Game Awards Night Coordinators: Patrick &
Sandee Donovan Our new Coordinators for this event, Patrick & Sandee Donovan are already hard at work planning and taking suggestions for this major fun raising event. Normally this event is held in February, an update will be forthcoming as to the exact date. MMM - Monthly Meeting Meal Coordinator: Bob Kennedy dawnell.kennedy@att.net
231 462-3162 Chef Bob and his crew provide outstanding meals at each one of our monthly membership meetings, the second Wednesday of every month, excluding November. The Fin and Feather Club has a widely known reputation as the club to belong to if you desire great food. Volunteers are always welcome and needed for serving and cleanup. Eddie Eagle Program Coordinator: The Eddie Eagle program is presented to out local school age children. Magazines and hands on training are provided by volunteers from the Fin & Feather Club to instruct children on gun safety. The motto of the Eddie Eagle program is: if children come across a firearm, they are instructed to stop, don’t touch, tell an adult. 231 843-9471 The Tracks Magazine program is provided to our local grade schools by
volunteers of the Fin and Feather Club of Mason County in conjunction with
Michigan United Conservation Clubs. The magazine is a conservation magazine geared

members of the Fin and Feather Club are justly proud of our clubhouse,
buildings and grounds. It’s a
major undertaking to keep our facilities looking neat and clean and the
buildings up to date. Our Coordinator,
Koby, spends countless hours making sure that our facilities are the best
that they can be. Volunteers are
always needed as it takes several members to accomplish our goals. Archery Coordinator – Chris
Shimmel jt76x@yahoo.com 231-578-4531 The archery range has 30 3-D targets. The range is set up and open for members and guests accompanied by club members. In addition to open shooting there are two organized 3-D archery league shoots. Black Fly League and Big Buck League. Indoor archery leagues are available during the winter months. Contact Chris for dates, times and information. Cost for members is $4.00, non members $6.00, kids 15 and under shoot for free. Gun A Month Raffle Coordinator: Roger Langejans 231 843-0927 The Gun a Month Raffle starts in October selling only 300 tickets at $50
each. After the first drawing in October, no more tickets will be sold. A ticket is then drawn at every club
meeting for the year. When you
purchase a ticket or tickets, this puts you in all 12 monthly drawings. You then have the chance to win one, two or
more of the fine quality firearms and you need not be present to win, but you
must be 18 years of age to participate in the raffle and to be eligible to
purchase a firearm. Help is always
needed to sell the tickets. |
